What the software does, and what it deliberately does not. The current release is intentionally low-data and low-integration: it does not connect to your electronic patient record and holds no patient-identifiable clinical records, so the honest answer to most of these is a short one.
It publishes the information your service already gives out: who your team are, where to come, and what your conditions and procedures involve. Patients open it from a link or a QR code on any device, it carries your organisation’s own logo, colours and banner text on every screen, and your clinical team writes and updates every word of it without a developer.
No. The current release holds no patient names, identifiers, records or clinical results, so there is no record set for your information governance team to assess before you start.
No. Patients open a link or scan a QR code. There is no account to create, no password to reset and no credential to lose.
Content and uploaded files are stored in a UK region (London), scoped to the organisation that owns them. The web app itself is delivered from a content network with points of presence internationally, as any website is.
No. Information travels from the service to the patient and stops there: no reply channel, no message box and no upload.
PatientMemo runs no surveys or questionnaires of its own and stores no responses. Where a service or a study collects answers, the app links out to their own form, on their own tooling. The only retained data is technical error logs, deleted after 90 days by a scheduled job inside the database, not by someone remembering to run it.
No. Every request for content is scoped to the organisation that owns it. That isolation is covered by an automated test suite that deliberately tries to reach across the boundary and must fail.
You do. Your team writes and publishes every clinical word patients read, and you control who on your team can publish it. We do not author clinical content on your behalf, and we do not edit what your team publishes.
No. PatientMemo does not connect to your electronic patient record and needs no integration to go live. Content is managed entirely through the PatientMemo admin, so your clinical team controls what patients see without waiting on a development cycle.
No. PatientMemo opens in a browser, with nothing to download and nothing to install from an app store. Patients can add it to their home screen if they want to. It works on iPhone and Android.
It is not an electronic patient record, a patient portal or a clinical decision-support tool, and it is not a bespoke app build. It is the patient-facing information layer for a service, managed by that service.
Every answer above describes the current release. Where something is planned rather than shipped, it is not on this page.
